Allen's Mill Covered Bridge

In the 1840's, Henry Gerard built a grist/saw mill along the Great Miami River. The Miami & Erie Canal provided an easy mode of transportation for the goods. In 1848, Henry Ware Allen purchased the mill. It became known as Allen's Mill from then on. Allen successfully operated the mill for roughly 50 years. The mill was considered the largest and most progressive in all of western Ohio.
