Originally, this covered bridge spanned Brannon's Fork near Young Hickory, in Muskingum County. When the surrounding area was strip mined, the bridge was disassembled and sold to Arthur Wesner. In 1967, Wesner reassembled the bridge on his property over Big Run, near Grove City. The bridge finally came to rest at Slate Run Metro Park in 1998, after Wesner generously donated it to the park.
