Columbiana County Infirmary

In 1829, 200 acres were purchased and a poorhouse was built. After falling into disrepair, it was replaced by the current poorhouse in 1864. In 1873, the insane hall was built. Then in 1936, the hospital was built. The property also contained a powerhouse, heating plant, meat storage, dairy, barn, and a cemetery. This infirmary was known as one of the best conducted institutions of it's kind in the state. The people who were able to work, were required to on the farm.
