The property contained a powerhouse, heating plant, meat storage, dairy, barn, and a cemetery. This infirmary was known as one of the best conducted institutions of it's kind in the state. Those able to work were required to on the farm.

Insane Hall

In 1873, an insane hall was built to isolate the insane from those living in the poorhouse. The hospital was built in 1936. It provided 3 wards, each containing 10 beds. Patients had to be sent to the Salem City Hospital prior to the construction.
