The small village of Fairview was located nearby. Fairview was laid out on a portion of Milton Heagler's 1,200 acre farm. Fairview was a station on the Toledo, Delphos & Burlington Railroad. A large amount of grain was shipped from the village each year. The village contained several houses, 2 churches, a grain elevator, and probably a cemetery and a general store as well.
