Gregg House

This house was built in 1855-1856 on the 555 acre Gregg Farm. George W. Gregg was a banker in Circleville. He also raised purebreed Devon Cattle. George held numerous positions in Pickaway County. He was Chairman of the Military Committee during the Civil War. He also served as the Treasurer of the Agricultural Society and as the Secretary of the Fairground Association.

In 1920, M.M. Crites purchased the farm and house. It belonged to the Crites Family up until 2001, when the Don M. Casto Co. acquired it. The Columbus Developer eventually donated the house and 2 acres of land to the Roundtown Conservancy. They saved this house from demolition by having it moved a short distance in 2004. The organization plans to fully restore this house and use it as a museum. This is one of only 34 octagonal houses remaining in Ohio.
