Mustill Lock # 15

Joseph and Sarah Mustill came to Akron in 1833. Around 1840, they built a house and a grocery store at Lock # 15. The Mustill Store was a popular place to buy and barter goods back in the canal days. Joseph and Sarah's son, Frederick, eventually took over the store. Three generations of the Mustill Family operated the store up until 1888.
