Lock # 0

Photographer: Chance Brockway

This canal lock was constructed in 1839-1840. It was needed due to the water level being raised on the Licking Reservoir.

The Minthorn Family owned the land. In 1840, Thomas Minthorn built a hotel near this canal lock. The Minthorn Hotel was a popular place during the canal days.
