This church was built on Jessie Pancake's 1,200 acre farm, near the family cemetery. Jesse Pancake moved from Virginia to Ohio in 1812. He quickly became a successful and well respected farmer. Jesse was one of the most well known and honored citizens of Stokes Township. He held numerous offices, including several terms as the Trustee, Supervisor, and Clerk.
