"The name of Renick carries with it, whenever found, a sense of sterling integrity as well as ample means."
The Renick family is one of the oldest and most prominent families in Pickaway County. John Renick came to Ohio from Virginia in 1798. John's son, Job R. Renick, owned 1,700 acres of the finest land in Jackson Township. Job was born in 1820. In 1890, he had the finest house in the township built. I believe this is the house. Job died a year after it was built, at 71 years of age. Job's son, John J. Renick, inherited his father's estate after his death. John was born in 1886. An Indian fort known as Johnny's Camp was discovered on the property, which had been in possession of the Renick Family since 1802.
