Roseville Prison

This prison was built in 1926-1927. It operated from 1927-1933 and 1952-1967. This was one of two medium security, brick making, satellite prisons built by the Ohio Penitentiary. Roughly 300 good-behavior inmates were incarcerated here. The inmates were put to work in the brick plant that was located on the property. The Ohio State Brick Plant was capable of manufacturing 30,000 bricks a day. The bricks were marked "Convict Made".
