Scheer Brewery

John Scheer was born in Germany in 1824. In 1844, he emigrated to the United States and settled in Louisiana. He moved to Cincinnati a year later and learned to brew. From then on, brewing became his passion. In 1854, he moved to Warren County and built this brewery. This particular location was chosen due to the natural spring behind the building. Despite being a brewer, Scheer never associated with anyone who was a drunk. He was known as a generous and whole souled man. He always went out of his way to help those in need.

Update

In November, 2008, a local resident purchased the small plot of land that contains this brewery, and an 1803 log cabin. He is planning to restore both structures, which are among the oldest in Warren County, and live in the brewery.
