John Scheer was born in Germany in 1824. In 1844, he emigrated to the United States and settled in Louisiana. He moved to Cincinnati a year later and learned to brew. From then on, brewing became his passion. In 1854, he moved to Warren County and built this brewery. Despite being a brewer, he never associated with anyone who was a drunk. He was known as a generous and whole souled man. He always went out of his way to help those in need.
