The Turkey Run Baptist Church was organized in 1817 by Silas Ashbrook and Jacob Tharp. It was named after the nearby creek, Turkey Run. I believe a log structure was built to house the services. This particular church was built in 1835. The church was a small respectable society with roughly 40 members. George DeBolt, John Hite, Lewis Sites, Eli Ashbrook, Cave, And Tunis Peters were the early preachers.
