Edward and Isaac Williams were among the earliest settlers in Scioto Township. They settled in this area in 1806. The first sawmill in the township was built on Edward's farm. I believe this house was built for Vincent I. Williams, who was possibly one of their sons. Vincent owned a large tract of land in this area, which he farmed. He served as the superintendent of the Commercial Point M.E. Church in 1847.
